Eating at The Old Rectory
The best Cumbrian produce
At The Old Rectory we strive to deliver the very best in Cumbrian produce.
We source local ingredients wherever possible and use local suppliers – Melville Tyson an old established family butcher and grocer in Broughton-in Furness and Hutchinsons –another old established family butcher and grocer in Coniston.
For breakfast you can choose from our delightful buffet alongside our traditional Cumbrian breakfast which will certainly keep you going until lunchtime, whether you are sightseeing for the day or climbing to the top of the Old Man of Coniston.
Lunch on the move
And for those of you looking to stride out for the day over the Cumbrian Fells, we can also arrange packed lunches for you with notice to help keep you going.
Ann loves baking and at The Old Rectory we believe the odd slice of home-made cake is a well deserved treat, especially when you are on holiday!
So you will find home-made flapjacks in your room which we will top up regularly and all guests arriving in the afternoon are offered complimentary tea or coffee and home-made cake in the lounge.
However if during the course of your stay you would like to order tea or coffee and cake in the lounge again, as long as Ann is around just ring the bell and for a small charge you can enjoy the experience all over again!
